Pirat Specs   3 comments

Builder: Baltic

Designer: Douglas Peterson

Year Built: 1984

Length (LOA): 38′                       Beam: 12.33′                          Draft: 7.25′

Displacement: 14,330 lbs.                                Ballast: 6,500 lbs.

Engine: Yanmar 28hp diesel

Hull and Deck: Balsa cored fiberglass hull; deck is same construction with teak overlay

Some unique features: The rig is about a foot taller than the standard Baltic 38 rig. The shroud base is also narrower. Pirat was originally equiped with a tiller so the deck around the cockpit is flush (no cushy back rests for us!)

Other bonus items: 2 blade feathering Max prop; Diesel heater

  1. Hi!
I’ve enjoyed your blog. We have your sistership, n:o 41. Have you been happy with the maxprop?

    • Yes! The Maxprop is great! It came with the boat so we didn’t go out and buy it on our own. I think it helps the boat handle much better in reverse under engine power.
Do you have the cockpit model or the flush-deck like we have?

  2. Hi!
We have the cockpit model, some pics can be found on syviima.blogspot.com
